چکیده
The main protocol for the diagnosis of prostate cancer (PC) is determination level serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA), a digital rectal examination followed by 12-point biopsy PC under guidance transrectal ultrasonography. An isolated increase in PSA may be only reason performance. However, this led to overdiagnosis and overtreatment clinically insignificant disease (40-65% performed biopsies were excessive). Clinical observation. Patient, 74 years old. – 10 ng/ml (physiological procedural factors affecting absent). A high gives suspect presence pancreatic cancer. Let's note age values upper total blood serum: 50-59 - 3.5 ng/ml; 60-69 old 4.5 over 70 6.5 ng/ml. value above basis performing PZ. patient underwent polyfocal gland multiparametric ultrasound Sonoview echocontrast. Pathohistological conclusion: acinar adenocarcinoma (Gleason Score 3 + 4 = 7) left lobe without lymphovascular perineural invasion.

[Transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy of the prostate].
The early detection of prostatic neoplasm is nowadays a primary need in the urological field. The availability of transrectal ultrasound equipment alongside with bioptic tools made possible that transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy of the prostate became the standard procedure to achieve this goal. With this work we would like to confirm the efficacy of this method which is also associated with...
متن کاملTransrectal ultrasound and biopsy in the early diagnosis of prostate cancer.
BACKGROUND Historically, the prostate was evaluated for cancer by simple digital rectal examination, and biopsy to obtain a tissue diagnosis of cancer was performed blindly. The advent of ultrasound technology offered a new way to evaluate the prostate, and biopsy techniques were soon developed to incorporate ultrasound guidance. METHODS The authors review the role of transrectal ultrasound (...

In the early 1990's when systematic biopsy of prostate using transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) had just begun, there was enthusiasm for identifying abnormalities and obtaining appropriate samples. Since the occurrences of early small prostate cancer are increasing and identifying tumors using TRUS are somewhat subjective, the efficiency of the method in detecting and staging prostate cancer ha...

Arguably the most important step in the prognosis of prostate cancer is early diagnosis. More than 1 million transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate needle biopsies are performed annually in the United States, resulting in the detection of 200,000 new cases per year. Unfortunately, the urologist's ability to diagnose prostate cancer has not kept pace with therapeutic advances; currently, ...
